Round 2 saw a much better performance from both the Warriors and Stars. We won two games on the field and the Warriors are now ranked 3,000 places higher. The top score of the round was a massive 1,014 points. Wonder who his captain was…
I owe a lot of this to my number one striker - Lasith Malinga. He obliterated the Scorchers, taking a record 6 for 7 and basically sealing the game after the first innings. He then backed it up yesterday with two more poles; deadly yorkers that are simply unplayable. He scored a whopping 200 points! Problem is, the Stars don’t play a game in Rd 3 so we won’t see him for a while.
Ok, to the changes. Working down the list, I need to substitute all of my teammates out of the Warriors and trade the leftovers. So, Handscomb heads to the bench for Forrest, and I’m going to trade Brad Hodge. Player prices have changed and as a result Hodgey’s stock has fallen slightly. No surprise here that I’m trading Hodge for the in-form Aaron Finch. I’ve seen his power first hand!
Dave Hussey is being swapped for Moises Henriques, joining James Hopes as my all-rounders. A score from James isn’t far off.
I’ve swapped Haddin for Hartley in the wicketkeepers slot. He’s in super touch, Hads, and a no-brainer to put him straight back in. Credit to Hartley though, who held his nerve against the Strikers by hitting the last ball for four to get the win in a thriller. Great stuff.
Malinga not playing sees Brett Lee return. This means there is only one Star left – me. Looks like I gotta go. This is a tough one. Two thoughts: Kane Richardson is on fire recently, but Joe Mennie is impressive and plays two games this round. I’m going Mennie because he plays that extra game and keeps me well under the cap.
