Murali Monday: The BBL best of Sri Lankan spin wiz

One of the best bowlers of modern times, Muttiah Muralitharan’s signing to the Melbourne Renegades prior to BBL|02 was massive for the emerging competition.

In his two seasons with the ‘Gades, Murali consistently bamboozled batsmen, clashed with long-time rival Shane Warne, and entertained many with his big grin and brilliant highlights.

Tim Paine Tuesday: Career-best T20 knock on Boxing Day

These days Tim Paine spends Boxing Day leading the Australian Test team in front of a capacity MCG crowd.

But it wasn’t all that long ago when instead he was plying his trade for the Hobart Hurricanes – like this instance in BBL|06.

Riki Wessels Wednesday: ‘Eyes on the ball’ goes next level

The son of South African star Kepler Wessels, Riki impressed for the Sydney Sixers as they finished runners-up in BBL|04.

This wasn’t exactly his finest moment. Not only was Wessels hit in the head by a Kane Richardson bouncer, the ball actually got stuck in the grille of his helmet!

Ferguson Friday: A century in Perth for fearless Ferg

A trip to Optus Stadium was a daunting task for the Sydney Thunder in the latter stages of BBL|08.

Veteran Callum Ferguson arrived at the crease with the visitors 1-18, chasing 181 and immediately teed off. He reached triple figures in just 48 balls, and guided the Thunder to a six-wicket victory.
