Bolton belts Scorchers to win

The game was on the line before Nicole Bolton let loose with the bat late against the Hurricanes to hand the Scorchers a six-wicket win

A big-hitting finish from Nicole Bolton has guided Perth Scorchers to a six-wicket win over Hobart Hurricanes in their Rebel WBBL match at Lilac Hill.

An ever-improving Hurricanes outfit was threatening to take the game away from the Scorchers, with getting the wickets of Elyse Villani (21) and Megan Banting (duck) in the sixth over, and restricting the Scorchers' run chances with good fielding.

Match highlights: Scorchers fire to big finish

When Sciver (24) fell in the 13th over and Graham (10) in the 17th, the Scorchers looked in a spot of bother, needing 29 to win off 23 deliveries and struggling to find its rhythm.

But Bolton, who'd been going along quietly but steadily to that point, belted two fours and a six from the final five deliveries she faced to get the Scorchers home with seven balls to spare.

The Hurricanes had posted their second-highest score of WBBL|03, led by an excellent half-century from Georgia Redmayne, who made 53 to form the spine of the visitors' innings as they finished on 7-130.
