How each Big Bash club announced their fixture

Nothing was off limits as the eight KFC Big Bash League clubs went to great lengths to announce their BBL|09 fixtures to fans on social media

Adelaide Strikers

Two-pronged attack from the Strikers here, who went all out hype before a cheeky play on opposition team names and mascots later on in the day. Well done to the team who came up with these ideas… and kudos to whoever is inside that mascot suit!

Brisbane Heat

All class from Brisbane with a clean graphic displaying some stars of the Heat alongside each key date of their BBL|09 campaign. The innocence stopped here however, as the crew at the Gabba turned to Twitter to sledge all their counterparts at any opportunity possible!

Hobart Hurricanes

Speculation went into overdrive in the lead-up to Thursday’s fixture release, with everyone wondering where and when the ‘Cane Train will be stopping in BBL|09...

Turns out it’ll be a trip to Alice Springs to kick off the season for the Hurricanes, with that and more all wrapped up nicely in this clean and colourful graphic.

Melbourne Renegades

They’re a rare bunch at the ‘Gades, with their Mohammad Nabi obsession and quirky social media style. This fixture release video was no different, using a monster truck – of all things – to highlight each game on the schedule. Watch closely for some cheeky digs at the Brisbane Heat and cross-town rivals the Melbourne Stars.

Melbourne Stars

A fixture to get the heart beating a little faster for fans of the Melbourne Stars, who played into this theme with a steady build of anticipation. A little nugget in there at the end as well. Memberships to join the Green Team are now on sale!

Perth Scorchers

Cute dog alert! Love or hate the Perth Scorchers, you couldn’t have watched this video without a smile on your face. How could you possibly go wrong with puppies in costumes, seriously. It took until our third (or 300th!) watch to realise there was a voiceover behind this masterpiece. So now you can listen to your team be insulted while the little furry friends do their thing on screen…

Sydney Sixers

Find us someone who loves a meme or GIF more than the Sydney Sixers! With each game corresponding to a different pop culture reference, everyone will get a surprise of their own watching this little Christmas (in July) present.

Sydney Thunder

The Thunder announced their fixture by borrowing a landmark or two from each ground or city they’ll be visiting in BBL|09. Think Parramatta train station, the Spirit of Tasmania etc. Very creative and very well executed.
