MacGill Monday: Super spinner gets two huge scalps

Most commonly seen in whites, Stuart MacGill revived his career with the Sydney Sixers in the inaugural BBL season.

He kicked things off with an outstanding spell in the first ever Big Bash match, claiming the wickets of BOTH Brisbane Heat openers – and international superstars – Brendon McCullum and Matthew Hayden.

Tymal Tuesday: Mills snags unbelievable catch for Hurricanes

The Melbourne Stars’ high-profile international Kevin Pietersen was approaching a half-century and had the MCG crowd entertaining.

Until, that is, his English counterpart Tymal Mills pulled off a stunning reflex catch from his own 148km delivery.

Haydos Hump day: Matthew Hayden winds back the clock

Always known for his aggressive approach to batting, expectations were high for Matthew Hayden when he made his way to the Brisbane Heat in BBL|01.

The Queenslander didn’t disappoint. Take this knock against the Hurricanes for example. ‘Haydos’ blasted 76 from 51 balls as the Heat won a thriller at the Gabba.

Franky Worrall Friday: Stars seamer steps up in Semi Final

Persistent injuries meant Melbourne Stars’ paceman Daniel ‘Franky’ Worrall had an interrupted BBL|08 season.

The frustration came to an end at the best possible time, as Worrall claimed a four-wicket haul against the Hobart Hurricanes – guiding the Stars’ to the BBL final.
